I welcome you to get to know me and my art

I have been an artist for over 20 years. I graduated with first class honors Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts (1994) from Margaret Trowell School of Fine Arts, Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda.

I earned my Masters degree in Fine Arts Administration and Curatorship (1998), from Goldsmiths, University of London, UK.

Mugs of tea, cups of macchiato, and long conversations have led to much fruitful collaboration always infused with joyfulness.

Exhibitions have included solo and joint shows in Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and The Netherlands

Writing is a pleasure, sometimes a challenge. I have written book chapters, catalogue essays, conference papers, symposia presentations, invited lectures, and a blog.

Teaching a variety of students from pre-kindergarten to university, in formal and informal settings since 1994.

Gallery work since 1993 has included: Makerere University Gallery, October Gallery, London, England; The Equation Gallery, Masaka, Uganda; and The Gallery Café, Kampala, Uganda.

Kampala Studio Art Tour founded in 2007 to introduce viewers to art production spaces and processes

Co-Director of Let Art Talk, an artists’ organization led by Fred Mutebi with grassroots art activities in Masaka, Gulu, and Kampala.

Uganda Artists Association Chair from 2002 to 2004 together with 7-person executive team we organised weekly discussions, workshops, and monthly exhibitions in collaboration with Nommo Gallery and Alliance Francaise Kampala.
